Vodafone Netherlands has been using Amdocs end-to-end customer care and billing system since 1999. At the end of 2000, Amdocs upgraded the Vodafone Netherlands system to support GPRS.

A System for the Future We consider GPRS to be the start of the third generation. GPRS means always online, but you don't want the customer to pay for always online. You want the customer to pay for data transfers and event-based billing and all kinds of concepts that aren't known today. Our billing provider needs to understand that. That's why we need a partner like Amdocs.

Advanced Scalability In the time we have been using the Amdocs system, we have more than doubled our business. If we did not have the Amdocs system in place, we wouldn't have been able to handle this growth. The Amdocs system scaled to meet our needs. We know that even if the market is aggressive, we won't face a problem with capacity going forward.
