During this period, Amdocs took its first steps into diversification, while keeping the customer-centric philosophy from its Yellow Pages business. Amdocs first expanded into the telephone arena and then the mobile space. The development of Ensemble, the industry's first UNIX-based customer care and billing system, led to Amdocs’ massive growth.

  • 1991 – Enter the wireline telephone market: Southwestern Bell Telephone (SWBT) win – Billing system development agreement
  • 1992 – US West wireline billing win
  • 1993 – Enter the mobile market: Southwestern Bell Mobile Systems (SBMS) win – Ensemble Customer Care & Billing (CC&B) development agreement
