Press Release Feb 02 2016Using one Amdocs platform, Liberty Global has now launched MVNOs in five markets ST. LOUIS - Feb. 2, 2016 - Amdocs (NASDAQ: DOX), the leading provider of customer experience solutions, today announced that Liberty Global, the largest international cable company serving 27 million customers across 14 countries, has launched MVNO (mobile virtual network operator) operations at UPC Austria and Virgin Media Ireland using the Amdocs Compact Convergence solution.
By adding mobile to existing cable, fixed-line and broadband Internet lines of business, UPC Austria and Virgin Media Ireland, both part of the Liberty Global group, will be able to offer even more value to their customers with bundled offerings and promotions as well as mobile only. Delivered in a managed services model, the Amdocs Compact Convergence solution spans multiple business and operational support systems (B/OSS) for ordering, provisioning, service creation and delivery, real-time charging and billing. Leveraging the solution's multi-tenancy capabilities, the two new Liberty Global MVNOs were deployed on a single platform in less than a year, operating cost-efficiently and delivering a consistent customer experience, while defining and managing their own offerings and tariffs under their own brand.
Amdocs delivered a similar solution to enable Liberty Global to launch mobile operations in The Netherlands, Switzerland and Hungary, and is now hosting all five markets on one centralized platform supported by Amdocs managed services, including daily operations, maintenance, application development and testing.
"Amdocs Compact Convergence delivers a broad range of core B/OSS capabilities as a truly integrated stack. This helps to ease deployment, enable smooth operation and reduce our time to market for new offerings," said Volker Libovsky, vice president of IT Integration at Liberty Global & CIO of Liberty Global subsidiaries Unitymedia, UPC Cablecom and UPC Austria. "With its ability to support multiple affiliates on one platform, Amdocs Compact Convergence has empowered us with the business agility to launch mobile operations and expand to quad-play in five markets in less than two years."
"The Amdocs Compact Convergence solution offers MVNOs and affiliates of international companies the means to quickly launch entirely new operations and brands, or expand into new market segments to further grow businesses," said Chris Williams, head of global marketing at Amdocs. "By expanding their use of Amdocs Compact Convergence to additional markets in Europe, Liberty Global continues its journey to offer quad-play across its footprint, delivering rapid service innovation as expected in The New World of Customer Experience™, while accelerating business value through operational cost-efficiencies."
