How AI & network operations are empowering CSPs for the future
As GenAI – and especially ChatGPT – becomes ever more ubiquitous across almost every sector of society, the race to identify new and more innovative use cases continues to snowball!
Recently, I had the privilege of addressing the Rural Wireless Association Summit on the power of AI in network operations. We looked at the many ways that CSPs can leverage the technology in their networks to improve both their top and bottom lines and supported this with innovations already occurring across our industry. For example, one CSP is leveraging ML to correlate NPS with network statistics, helping to identify specific areas where it can improve customer experience. Another is using analytics to help analyze the impact of fixed wireless vs fiber. Meanwhile, a third operator is harnessing AI to provide optimization options in areas of high demand.
Here at Amdocs, we’re exploring the many ways in which AI can help our customers, including:
- Digitizing scanned PDFs to enable customers to rapidly source information from hundreds (if not thousands) of tower lease agreements.
- Creating network "digital twins", by using autonomous drones to capture information about tower assets, enabling more efficient network analysis and decision making for optimizing network performance, RF tuning and more.
- Analyzing "what if" scenarios to optimize spectrum utilization and minimizing additional CAPEX, by identifying underused spectrum.
Ultimately, our goal is to empower our customers with tools and knowhow they need – leveraging AI, GenAI, ML and automation – to deploy and operate their networks with maximum efficiency.
