Day two at Mobile World Congress (MWC) Barcelona 2024 picked up where day one left off, with GenAI understandably stealing the show.
However, this time, we view its capabilities from a fresh perspective—one that highlights its potential to positively impact the environment, society, and customer experiences.
At Amdocs’ booth, the morning commenced with a “green celebration” alongside Amazon Web Services. Together, they celebrated their award-winning energy efficiency solution, developed in collaboration with the TM Forum. This solution leverages the power of GenAI, enabling service providers to transition to low-carbon alternatives, achieve net-zero targets, and guide consumers toward greener choices.
Continuing the theme of technology’s wider impact on the world and society, Idit Duvdevany Aronsohn, Head of Corporate Responsibility, Inclusion (DEI), and Wellbeing at Amdocs, addressed a captivated audience at the MWC debate stage. She participated in a panel discussion titled “Measuring Diversity & Inclusion: Setting Goals & Tracking Progress.”
Aronsohn emphasized the integral role of leadership in driving workplace change. She stated, “Data permeates every aspect of our work, accessible to all our business leaders and supporting functions. We’ve made it a habit for our leaders to engage in conversations about diversity and inclusion with employees. This approach has heightened their accountability, engagement, and sense of ownership regarding these critical topics.”
Highlighting the dual facets of leadership—head and heart—Aronsohn explained, “We seek leaders with both qualities. The heart represents our desire for diverse individuals, while the head recognizes that diverse teams consistently outperform non-diverse ones. Now, we must demonstrate to leaders that this approach works—a task best accomplished by presenting data-driven evidence.”
