“When we think of connectivity, I almost think of it as fuel. It's really, really important to survive, to be transitioned, to move. And so for me, connectivity is as important as water or oil 50 or 100 years ago. So for me, it's not an if or when – it is an absolute must for us. So telos plays a big role. We are leaders in making sure there is connectivity, especially across the indigenous population, but also the remote parts of Canada where we know that it is truly important to stay connected in that space.”

As we enter the era of generative AI, what happens to the notion of Digital Experience?

This season host Matt Roberts is joined by a new and exciting roster of guests. In this episode, he sits down with Chris Madan, Director, Digital Sales at TELUS and Saeed Otufat-Shamsi, Director of Information Services at TELUS. Matt is also joined by co-host Neeraj Kanojia of Amdocs.

“What would be the best interest for our customers and what would the best interest for us? Let’s find a middle ground upfront as opposed to reaching out to the customers and then provide the service that may not be in the best interest of the customers or and have their privacy is being jeopardized. So that is our responsibility. And as a society, as a technology providers, we have to look at that. We have to make ourselves responsible for that. The platforms that we are putting outside, we have to make it our own. Our job is to do it right from the get-go and not wait for the others to force us to do it.”

They discuss how the TELUS team is ‘internally disrupting’ itself to stay ahead of the curve and keep up with emerging technology, the biggest challenges facing the telecommunications industry and why telecom companies need to compete not only with each other but with companies in the tech space more broadly.

“I think there is a precedence to how breakthrough technologies need to be shown some right direction.”
