What does Pride mean to you?

To many, it’s a reminder of not only the tremendous accomplishments of LGBTQ+ activists throughout the years but also the obstacles that still stand in the way of true equality in some areas. For me, it’s an important reminder that we should take the time to learn from different perspectives, and instead of just being angry about discrimination, focus on making real change as an ally. Listening and learning, being vocal when you see discrimination, and welcoming everyone.

After being Amdocs’ Pride sponsor last year, I wanted to go deeper and listen to more stories from our LGBTQ+ colleagues. To learn from their experiences and identify changes we need to make to ensure ongoing progress. For example, adding parental leave, ongoing diversity training for our workforce, and participating in Pride celebrations with our global workforce.

As a company, we are committed to diversity and inclusion and welcome professionals of all races, colors, religions, gender identity and expression, sexual orientations, ages, national origins, disabilities, and veteran statuses. We are committed to fostering a safe work environment in which all of us feel valued for who we are, and can express ourselves and our identities openly.

But there is always more work to do. We’re creating an LGBTQ+ employees’ network, conducting more HR training sessions, and developing volunteer channels that empower the LGBTQ+ community.

Everyone in our company is committed to what they do. Their work is part of their passion. Companies thrive when everyone can bring their whole authentic self to their work – and feel safe and supported. I know Amdocs will continue to be the kind of company where everyone feels able to do this; where everyone is able to shine.
