The global COVID-19 pandemic has forced companies to drastically alter their business models and digital transformation priorities.
In light of this, Openet and Telecoms.com set out to understand whether service providers see data as a commodity – and what they’re doing about it as 5G continues its global rollout.
The survey revealed that 51% feel data has already reached commodity status. But many share a view that 5G can help reverse this. Key findings show that:
- 76% will maintain or increase investment in digital transformation
- 56% believe customers would pay a premium for 5G with guaranteed quality of service (QoS)
- 5G with guaranteed QoS presents a 4.64% average revenue uplift – equating to a US$16.5bn revenue opportunity for service providers by 2025
Explore these and other findings in detail, and see why you need to look at your BSS functions to better capitalize on 5G opportunities.
