The 2025 EX20 Global study was conducted in Q2 across 14 industries, with input from 1,020 employees and 355 business leaders.
Unlike traditional engagement surveys, which tends to measure satisfaction in broad strokes, this study was design to make friction. Employees were asked not just how they feel but where work actually breaks down. Leaders were asked to identify their priorities and investments.
By layering these perspectives together, the analysis shows both alignment and divergence. It also make visible the risks that sentiment surveys alone often mask. An employee may rate their engagement as "satisfactory", yet spend hours every week working around outdated systems. A leader may proudly describe AI readiness, while employees remain untrained and hesitant to adopt the tools. Without mapping both sides, these gaps stay hidden until turnover spikes or productivity drops.
