How can a nationwide carrier also be your trusted neighbor?
On this episode of the Great Indoors, Matt sits down with Oren Mangel, Client Business Executive at Amdocs, and special guest Mike Irizarry, Executive VP - CTO & Head of Eng and Info Tech, at UScellular. As an industry pioneer who joined the company in 2002 with extensive experience and credentials, including a doctorate in communications technology from Capella University's School of Business and Technology, Mike offers his expertise on a wide variety of topics including innovation, 5G technology, and how a nationwide carrier can serve as your trusted neighbor.
Mike addresses the country’s digital divide which has widened since the onset of the pandemic, and some of the strategies UScellular is relying on to bridge the gaps in rural America. He also shares his perspective on future use cases for 5G technology, data privacy in the age of the cloud, and the metaverse as a new iteration of the internet.
