How open are we to feedback? How can we use feedback as an opportunity for growth?
Bharti Gupta, Software Engineering Line Manager, began a new role as a manager, replacing a veteran manager who had led the team for a long time. She kept many team routines so that the transition between managers would be relatively easy.
After a few months in the role, she asked one of her team leads about the transition, and the feedback he shared with her took her completely by surprise. It was the opposite of the way she perceived herself as manager. Bravely reflecting on the feedback, she identified the root cause of the issues and was able to change her behavior and, consequently, to change the situation for the better.
