Amdocs wins prestigious Leading Lights award for Outstanding Digital Enablement Vendor
Amdocs has walked away (albeit, virtually) with the Outstanding Digital Enablement Vendor award at Light Reading’s Leading Lights 2020 online awards ceremony on Friday.
But while the Leading Lights awards venue and format might have changed from its usual large-scale gala awards ceremony “to a special pandemic-proof, super socially-distant online video conference call (and a little editing magic), connecting six editors in three countries”, industry awards from the Light Reading analyst publication are still as important as ever.
Judging was conducted by Light Reading's editors and the analyst team from Heavy Reading, with particular praise given to Amdocs for expanding its automation, and for broadening its connection to the cloud. The latter includes a complete set of cloud practices – SI capabilities, cloud-migration, cloud-capacity optimization, and agile DevOps – coupled with new strategic cloud-partnerships with Microsoft, AWS, and Google, as well as Amdocs’ industry-first Microservices360 (MS360) cloud-agnostic platform for developing microservices, and Amdocs’ CES20 portfolio: the only fully-cloud-native, 5G-ready, pre-integrated BSS-OSS suite, enabling service providers to go from concept/code to monetization/production in minutes.
Light Reading also highlighted Amdocs RevenueONE, an industry-first cloud-native, microservices-based 5G-monetization platform (and already proven to support 200M+ subscribers on a single system), as an additional contributory factor to getting this award. RevenueONE was also shortlisted by Light Reading as a finalist in the Most Innovative Mobile/Wireless Product or Service category.
Amdocs was also shortlisted as a finalist in three additional categories: Most Innovative Cable/Video Product or Service category (for Amdocs Media’s MarketONE), Most Innovative SD-WAN Product Strategy (Vendor) category for Amdocs NFV SD-WAN package on Azure, and Company of the Year (Public), which was previously won by Amdocs in 2018.
The Leading Lights program comprised 21 categories, recognizing the industry's top companies and their executives for outstanding achievements in next-generation communications technology, applications, services, strategies and innovation.
"This year's Leading Lights Awards entries show how the global communications industry is experiencing and embracing change, all while continuing to improve one of modern society's foundational resources," said Light Reading Editor-in-Chief Phil Harvey. "The judges were challenged to pick winners among several groups of really closely matched finalists and we think the whole group should be proud of their achievements.”
Last year, Amdocs took home the Leading Lights Most Innovative 5G Strategy award.
