How can we use generative AI for the good of humanity?
In this episode, host Matt Roberts of Amdocs sits down with more guests at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2023 in Barcelona, Spain: Kevin Shatzkamer, Digital Transformation Officer at Google and Meg Knauth, VP of Application Development and Operations at T-Mobile.
“Generative AI is real. There’s no hype. It's here. I think there's a whole bunch of guardrails that still need to be put around generative AI to make sure that it's used for human good and sustainability and productive activities rather than just flashy conversation. We've been experimenting and doing things in generative AI for a long time as Google.”
First, Kevin discusses how generative AI is here and how safeguards need to be put in place so that it is used to better society.
“The brand is amazing. It kind of warms your heart to think about being a part of a company that cares so much about their customers and so much about their employees and brings this level of excitement to everything we do. And innovates all day, every day. There's almost a little internal competition on who can push the envelope just a little bit farther and constantly stretching to see what the next frontier is and how we can add more value to customers’ lives.”
Next, Meg discusses the merger of T-Mobile with Sprint, and how it’s helped to usher in a new culture for the company. She also explains what it means to be an “Uncarrier,” and how this philosophy ensures that all their customers feel seen and heard.
