Joining a new company completely virtually
Mayank Jain, Software Developer, joined Amdocs right after finishing college. As this took place during COVID, his entire onboarding journey was virtual, which naturally added more complexities to the process.
How do you get to know a company when your onboarding is totally virtual? How do you make your onboarding swift and smooth? Mayank and his friends had a brilliant idea. They created a virtual office environment for themselves, which gave them a sense of belonging and support.
It enabled them to gain the formal knowledge needed to do their job, but also the hidden knowledge of how things are done at Amdocs (what do conversations sound like, how to refer to certain events, how to treat emails).
