The magic happens when you combine the business goals with the understanding of the people's needs and technology capabilities.
When I was 18, I was selected to join Mamram- a central computing system unit, as part of the mandatory military service in Israel. At that time, I didn't know anything about Technology. Still, I had heard from friends that getting into Mamram was difficult, and pursuing higher education there was even more complicated, so I decided to take that great opportunity. I participated in the six months Software Developer course that taught me everything I needed to know to become a developer. Later, I took additional advanced courses and became a System Analyst.
Today, I can say that I am thrilled to have taken the opportunity that opened the door for me to learn a new world and was the first step in my incredible technology career path.
Amdocs has given me the power to impact.
My journey with Amdocs began almost 25 years ago as a Developers Team Lead. Shortly after I joined Amdocs, I relocated to the UK and had the chance to work closely with the users of our systems. This is where I understood how important it is to get to know your users and their needs and design solutions accordingly. When I returned to Israel a few years later, my team and I decided to spread usability and enhanced user experience in all Amdocs' products and solutions. This led to my decision to change course in my development career, start a new journey, and establish a small team of two that provides UX services.
"When you are curious and constantly open to learning new things, willing to take risks, with the understanding that you might fail – this would be the key to your success!"
Today my team consists of 90 UX/UI professionals across Israel and India that provide end-to-end UX services to complex products and solutions of the world's leading service providers. We have been awarded for our professionalism, way of work, methodology, tools, and value our work brings to our customers' businesses. Recently my group was merged with Projekt202 – a company that Amdocs purchased four years ago that provides digital experience consulting services globally; together, I believe our impact will continue to grow, and we will be able to create better experiences for people everywhere.
Technology is best when it puts people in the center.
While the love for technology may not have been an inherent quality in me, my love for people and managing them was something I did naturally. Great innovative solutions are created when you know the people who will use them, their pain points, and their motivations. The magic happens when you combine the business goals with the understanding of the people's needs and the technology capabilities.
My biggest inspiration is the connection I create with people around me. My passion for understanding people’s minds led me to study psychology in addition to being an MBA graduate. I am also a trained Satya Coacher. The Satya method provides a deep understanding of yourself, finding inner peace, and letting go of fears that have controlled our lives for too long, limiting our potential. It's about being masters of our lives based on what's true for us, regardless of external circumstances. The coaching has helped me understand people and help them better, and it accompanies me daily with how I work and manage people.
You prove your worth as a leader when you do the right thing at the right time to bring out the best in people.
In my team, there are both men and women with exceptional skills, and I find no difference in gender. All of them can do any job and professionally fulfill their duties.
When you are curious and constantly open to learning new things, willing to take risks, with the understanding that you might fail – this would be the key to your success! When people believe in themselves, it’s amazing, but my role as a leader is to help my team members bring out the best in them, know their capabilities, allowing them to grow in their career paths and succeed beyond what they thought possible!
